Apex Trader Funding Rules & Payouts (2026)

Apex Trader Funding is a futures prop firm known for one-time evaluation fees and letting traders run up to 20 accounts at once. In March 2026 it relaunched with an "All New Apex" product line. You now choose an end-of-day (EOD) or intraday trailing drawdown, there's no consistency rule during the evaluation, and payouts come after 5 qualifying days. Most of what traders ask about Apex is its rules and especially its payout rules, so that's where this guide starts.

Rules below come from Apex's official Help Center as of October 13, 2026, and cover products bought after March 1, 2026. Prices are only shown in Apex's checkout and change with frequent promotions, so check apextraderfunding.com for current pricing.

Apex Trader Funding Payout Rules

Payouts come from the Performance Account (PA), the simulated funded account you get after passing the evaluation.

  • Qualifying days: you need 5 qualifying trading days before each payout. They don't have to be consecutive. A day qualifies if you make at least the minimum profit for your account size:

  • Split: you receive 100% of the amount you request.

  • Minimum: $500 per request.

  • Safety net: your balance must be above the drawdown amount plus $100 before you can request. On a 50K account, that's $52,600.

  • Caps: each payout has a size-based cap. For example, payouts on a 50K EOD account step up from $1,500 to $3,000, and on a 25K account each is capped at $1,000.

  • Limit per account: a PA allows up to 6 payouts, then it closes.

  • 50% consistency: no single profitable day can be 50% or more of your net profit since your last approved payout. If it is, the payout button stays locked until you're back under 50%. It isn't a rule violation.

Rules that apply to every size:

  • Minimum trading days: none, so you can pass in one day.

  • Consistency rule during the evaluation: none.

  • Fee: one-time, with 30 days of access. There are no resets.

  • After passing: you have 7 days to activate your PA, either by paying an activation fee or by having chosen a No Activation Fee evaluation up front.

EOD vs Intraday Drawdown

EOD drawdown accounts set your drawdown threshold from your end-of-day balance (at 4:59:59 PM ET) and enforce it in real time during the next session. They also have a daily loss limit. Hitting it pauses trading for the day; it doesn't fail the account.

Intraday trailing accounts have no daily loss limit, but the drawdown trails your peak balance in real time, unrealized gains included. A trade that runs up and then reverses can move your threshold even if you never close at that high.

On the PA, the drawdown stops trailing once the threshold reaches the starting balance plus $100. On a 50K PA, for example, it locks at $50,100. Contract limits and daily loss limits on the PA step up as your end-of-day balance grows.

Other Apex Rules

  • Platforms: Rithmic, Tradovate and WealthCharts, and NinjaTrader connects through Rithmic.

  • Markets: CME, CBOT, NYMEX and COMEX futures, plus EUREX futures on some platforms.

  • Prohibited: hedging (including across your own accounts), automated or high-frequency trading, holding positions through the market close, account sharing, and trade copying.

  • Stops are required: every trade needs a stop, whether it's an order or a mental stop. You also can't use the drawdown threshold as your stop, or set up trades with a tiny target and a huge stop.

  • Inactivity: Apex's intraday PA FAQ says the account is closed if you don't record two days of at least $50 profit within 30 days.

How to Track Multiple Apex Accounts

With up to 20 accounts, the risk isn't one bad trade. It's losing track of which account is close to its threshold, its consistency limit or its next payout.

  1. Create each evaluation and PA as its own account. StonkJournal's free plan has no account limit. Pro adds a combined view across all your accounts. See the multi-account trading journal.

  2. Copy Apex's limits into your rules. Set max contracts, daily loss and drawdown as risk rules. StonkJournal flags a trade that breaks one while you're entering it.

  3. Count your qualifying days. The calendar heatmap shows each day's P&L per account, so you can see how many days have cleared the qualifying minimum.

  4. Check the 50% rule before you request. Compare your best day since the last payout with your total net profit.

  5. Log a stop on every trade. Apex requires one, and recording it lets you check whether your actual losses respected it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Apex Trader Funding's payout rules?
You need 5 qualifying days, which don't have to be consecutive, and your best day can't be 50% or more of your net profit since your last payout. You also need a balance above the drawdown amount plus $100. The minimum request is $500, and you receive 100% of what you request, up to a size-based cap. Each Performance Account allows up to 6 payouts.

Does Apex Trader Funding have a consistency rule?
Not during the evaluation. On Performance Accounts there's a 50% rule: no single profitable day can be 50% or more of your net profit since your last payout. Breaking it delays your payout; it doesn't fail the account.

What is the Apex Trader Funding drawdown?
$1,000, $2,000, $3,000 or $4,000 depending on account size. You choose EOD drawdown, which is set from your end-of-day balance and comes with a daily loss limit. Or you choose intraday trailing drawdown, which trails your peak balance in real time and has no daily loss limit.

Can you pass Apex in one day?
Yes. The new evaluations have no minimum trading days and no consistency rule during the evaluation.

How many Apex accounts can I have?
Up to 20 Performance Accounts across all account types.
